Course Name: Free Embroidery Techniques & Home Decoration

The course is aimed at both beginners and experienced people.

Here you will learn how to create patterns and effects with free pattern techniques in a playful way!

We create pictures with a wooden embroidery hoop, 1 piece of embroidery fabric and sewing threads during the course. You can use several templates, you compose your image directly on the fabric.

During this embroidery course, there will be a review of different stitches, materials and techniques, but the focus is on you working freely to investigate and discover your "handstyle" and your expression. During the course's 12 meetings, you will be challenged to dare to try different ways of working.

With access to a limited number of basic stitches that you master well, you have great tools to design your embroidery.

Unless otherwise stated, the number of participants is limited to 6 per course session. Applications are accepted in the order in which they reach us.

No prior knowledge and skills are needed.

Preparation/ Materials

Materials are free for participants in the course.

The course takes place every Wednesday, 3 hours per meeting for 6 weeks.

We use: Embroidery bag, scissors, measuring tape, a fabric to embroider on in linen, cotton fabric, pointed and blunt needles and several colors Mouliné yarn, embroidery hoop.

Circle leader

Söhret Koc is an embroidery artist and works in Creative Women's project. She makes home decoration and jewelry using embroidery techniques. Söhret Koc exhibited the goods of her embroidery craft in the Creative Women's project at the Stockholm fair in Älvsjö and the Christmas market in Skärholmen center.
